Meet Elisabeth Figert
Welcome to the “The Foreign Mom” Blog by Elisabeth Figert.
I’m Elisabeth Figert and the face behind “The Foreign Mom” Blog.
I’m originally from Germany. My husband and I are now living in the US where we are raising our children. I’m a mom to two beautiful girls, Charlotte (4yrs) and Penelope (2 yrs).
I’ve been a stay/work-at-home mom since Charlotte was born. Staying home gives me the change to raise my girls while doing lots of fun projects with them.
But it also gives me the opportunity to raise my daughters bilingual, German and English. I want to share more of my story with you, but first…
Why The Foreign Mom Blog by Elisabeth Figert?
Every day we spend hours doing fun projects and my daughter’s and I would love to share them with you and your children.
Some of these activities are easy to set up activities, while others are bilingual activities with a focus on language development.
I created numerous activities for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. You can find even more of my activities on my Instagram.
These activities are easy to set up and mostly mess-free. You won’t need a lot of supplies for my activities because I want to make your life simple. 🙂
Experiences as a stay/work-at-home mom
Also, I want to share my experiences as a stay-at-home mom of two girls with you. I have learned so much in the last 4 years of my life as a mother.
I strongly believe that some of that knowledge can be beneficial to you, especially if you are a new mom or expecting your second child.
Furthermore, I want to share how I have been working from home without going insane. I will tell you how I stay organized and still have fun with my children every day.
Raising my daughter’s bilingual
I will share with you my experiences on raising my children bilingual.
Our bilingual journey has been crucial to me and there is so much to know on the subject.
But most importantly I want you to know that you are not alone in your bilingal journey. I created a support group for foreign moms that is open to all nationalities. Don’t be afraid to check us out. 🙂
Let me be your support system through Motherhood
I created “The Foreign Mom” Blog to share my experience/knockledge with you and to create a support system for foreign mothers. Knowing that others are going through the same thing in life is helping me every day and I know it’s helping others, too. And I believe it will help you as well…
Let’s Continue My Story
I finished university with a BS in Psychology and a minor in Art. During my Psychology studies, I focused on child development and parenting.
I always loved working with children and teaching them everything they need to know.
After university, I started a Caseworker position working with foreigners. My focus was on families and how to improve their lives.
My educational background and experiences have helped me to create my fun and engaging activities for children. And I can’t wait to share them with you and your children.
